Founder's Note
Why I Built This
I lost my first dog the way most people do — suddenly, and far too soon. In the weeks that followed, I found myself wanting to do something more than share a few photos on social media. I wanted a place where his story would stay. A place that would exist in five years, or fifteen, that anyone who loved him could visit and still find him there.
That place didn't exist the way I imagined it. There were services, but most were commercial — full of upsells, or cluttered with advertising, or designed around products rather than memories. I didn't want a memorial that existed to sell me urns. I wanted something quiet and dignified, built only to remember.
So I built it. Missing Them Forever started as a single site for dogs — K9 Everlasting — and grew from there. Feline Everlasting followed for cats, and then Pocket Everlasting for the smaller companions who carry just as much love in much smaller bodies: guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, chinchillas, and the rest. Every pet deserves to be remembered, regardless of size or species.
This organization is a non-profit. There are no ads. There are no tiers or premium features behind a paywall. Creating a memorial is free, and it always will be. The only thing we ask is that people treat one another's grief with the same gentleness they would want for their own.
If you're here, you've loved something and lost it. I'm sorry. I hope this place helps, even a little.
